The video review (Spanish)
The Losi Promoto SM appealed through its details and the prospect of riding an RC motorcycle on asphalt. After the first days, it is great fun, but it does not ride like a two-wheeled car.
What My Kit Included
My package contained transmitter, battery, USB charger, launch stand, tools and spare stickers. Contents depend on the purchased version; not every listing necessarily includes them.
I like the chain drive, suspension and front brake with its own servo. These details make it feel very different from an RC car.
The Stabiliser Changes the Experience
You can hear the flywheel spin up. While learning, it helped me keep the bike upright and become familiar with leaning.
The video covers three modes I use for handling and wheelies, plus side-support adjustments controlling lean. Finding a comfortable feel takes time.
Stabilisation consumes energy in addition to the drive motor. I did not measure runtime with it enabled versus disabled, so assign no specific minute penalty.
Asphalt Riding Takes Adjustment
I particularly enjoy watching it lean and lift the front wheel. Linking fast corners still takes practice: this review offers neither a finished setup nor competitive lap times.
At the end I recall a 62 km/h reading with the original battery, but explain losing the recording. It therefore remains a reported figure without visible measurement that can be checked in this video.
Falls and Maintenance
Use left marks on the rider and other areas. I also noticed a small suspension fluid leak and suspected impacts, without establishing the cause.
I did not keep it pristine while learning. Marks are part of use for me, but the leak needs inspection and should not be confused with completed maintenance.
Why I Like It
It offers a different experience and makes me want more practice. A car remains more versatile for my uses, but the Promoto’s movement is captivating.
I later tried another pack: see my Turnigy Rapid 2S experience. The Promoto SM page collects both posts.
