After jumping the Rlaarlo Omni Terminator, I noticed body wear around its supports. I also wanted a replacement ESC with more adjustments. This video combines both jobs: reinforcing the body inside and installing a Hobbywing QuicRun WP 10BL120 G2.

The recording includes a test with a 4S LiHV supplied by HobbyKing. This is an experimental preparation of my car; changing the ESC alone does not establish that the rest of the vehicle supports 4S.

Reinforcing the Body

I applied Gorilla Tape inside, concentrating on supports, sides and wheel arches, after removing trim and fittings obstructing access.

I cleaned the surface, pressed the tape into its shapes and trimmed the excess. Where long strips were awkward, smaller overlapping sections made the job easier.

Tape adds thickness. Reopen holes and check trim, mounts and clips fit without forcing the body. Work slowly with a knife to avoid cutting the polycarbonate or yourself.

The adhesive grips strongly and may remove paint when peeled away. I would not treat it as a consequence-free removable layer, particularly on an internally painted body.

Trial-Fit the ESC Before Sticking It Down

I removed the old ESC and switch and cleaned their mounting areas. Before attaching the replacement, I checked positioning with motor, receiver and battery wires.

The identified unit is the Hobbywing QuicRun WP 10BL120 G2. It fitted my car without a newly printed support. I connected throttle to the receiver and checked operation before closing and securing everything.

The official Hobbywing documentation specifies 2S–4S LiPo support, sensorless operation and voltage-dependent motor limits. Those belong to the ESC: they do not automatically validate the stock motor, gearing or entire car. Also check BEC settings and receiver/servo limits.

The Motor Connectors Do Not Match

The motor and new ESC bullet connectors differed in size. The video shows a temporary solution opening the contacts and notes the looseness. For a permanent installation, use correctly sized connectors, properly soldered and insulated; do not rely on deforming an incompatible bullet.

For a sensorless motor, the manual permits swapping two phases to reverse rotation. Disconnect the battery for changes and then verify direction with the car raised.

4S and LiHV Require Whole-System Checks

The tested battery has XT60. Physical connection does not prove electrical compatibility. Fully charged LiHV can exceed a conventional LiPo’s voltage at the same cell count. A “4S LiPo” rating does not establish compatibility with every fully charged 4S LiHV; confirm it for each component.

The battery guide explains this difference. This video does not document complete temperature checks or motor-longevity validation in the new configuration. It is not a guaranteed 4S conversion kit.

The Final Outing

The final section shows driving and jumps after installation, without measured speed, timed runtime or long-term durability testing.

Body reinforcement and the ESC change are separate decisions: you can address wear without increasing power. For its behaviour beforehand, see the original skatepark review. The Omni Terminator model page collects related posts.

  1. Rlaarlo Omni Terminator

Check the car version. The experimental video installation does not establish universal 4S compatibility.

  2. Gorilla Tape for Body Reinforcement

The adhesive can remove paint when peeled away; check its suitability for your body.

  3. Hobbywing QuicRun WP 10BL120 G2

Check the WP G2 reference, connectors, supported motor and BEC setting before installation.

  4. Turnigy LiHV 4S 2400 mAh

A pack used in experimental preparation. Confirm maximum LiHV voltage compatibility, dimensions and connector; it is not a direct recommendation for the stock car.
