The video review (Spanish)
The Wltoys 124017 gave me a great deal for what I paid. This 1:12 brushless buggy is extremely fast and offers plenty of adjustment and upgrade opportunities. My car needed work before driving the way I wanted: shocks, differentials and steering deserved attention from day one.
What I Received and Paid at the Time
When recording, the car had cost me about €85 after discounts. That is the historical purchase price, rather than a current price reference.
The video compares retail packaging with foam-box presentation. Mine included a 2200mAh 2S battery, USB charger, instructions and basic tools. I found the screwdriver poor, while the car wrench was useful.

What I Would Check First
My biggest disappointment was an RTR needing shock and differential preparation to work as expected. The review explains the work and shows the handling difference afterwards.
The tested differentials have metal gears but are not sealed. That matters when choosing lubrication: do not assume they retain silicone like a sealed differential.
I also checked steering and adjustments. Servo speed surprised me, but the servo/saver assembly did not automatically keep the car perfectly straight. After initial preparation I still had to correct a tendency to pull sideways.
This is the main issue to consider if you want to buy and drive without tools or adjustments.
Plenty of Car on 2S
There is already considerable acceleration on 2S. Preparing the shocks and differentials made control easier and reduced sideways wandering.
The stock transmitter is basic. It gets you started, but precise steering and setup become important when driving fast.
What Happened on 3S
My car ran on 3S and the behavioural change was enormous. Several runs required constant corrections to stay straight. I suggested a gyro transmitter as a possible upgrade; it was not tested during those runs.
The speed section shows 89 and 90 km/h readings with my test car. Those are results from that test, not a guaranteed speed for every 124017 or a figure for 2S operation.
Before changing battery, check your electronics’ voltage limits. My car working on 3S does not validate every model revision. Connecting higher voltage merely to discover whether it works can damage equipment.
Breakages Are Part of the Review Too
The car did not finish intact. I broke two suspension arms and replaced one before further asphalt runs. The summary also mentions a broken screw and a possibly bent pin.
The skatepark was fun, but my conclusion is not that the car is indestructible. It is a good platform for driving and learning repairs, accepting that a bad impact can end a session.
Who I Would Choose It For
It suits someone wanting a fast buggy who enjoys adjustments and does not see repairs as the end of the hobby. My purchase price, motor response and upgrade potential are its strengths.
I would choose more carefully if you expect flawless steering out of the box, no initial maintenance or 3S driving without time spent on setup.
