I used this charger with the Maxx and X-Maxx and liked simply connecting Traxxas iD batteries. Trouble appeared when using my other LiPos and depending on the app to configure them.

What I Liked About iD

With compatible batteries, the charger recognises the pack and simplifies setup. I show charge and storage modes and why it is convenient for two batteries.

Balancing forms part of the iD connection: no separate balance lead does not mean no balancing. Check each battery’s permitted rates rather than applying another pack’s figures.

What Changes with Conventional Batteries

I use the appropriate power connector and balance connection. Manual configuration happens in the app.

The official EZ-Peak Live Dual manual documents advanced mode for non-iD batteries, requiring chemistry, capacity, current and mode. This is supported configuration, rather than complete incompatibility with other batteries.

The iPhone Problem I Found

The video shows that the non-iD configuration warning’s accept button never enabled on my iPhone despite scrolling through the text. On Android I could continue.

That blocked a function I needed in my usual setup. It describes the observed test, not every current iOS or app version. No specific version is recorded that would support generalising the fault or verifying a fix here.

Why It Stopped Being My Main Charger

I liked it with iD batteries. For a workshop using several brands, phone-dependent configuration was inconvenient, and my usual phone had that blocker.

This conclusion reflects those needs. I do not claim it inherently damages batteries or that an interface fault proves a charging fault; it was a practical limitation prompting another solution.
