The video review (Spanish)
While selling some cars, I found this used electric Serpent GTE 1/8. It starts from an RTR base but has significant modifications. From the first days, it became one of the cars I most wanted to take to the track.
Mine Does Not Represent a Stock RTR
It has a Hobbywing XR8 Pro ESC, 2400KV Hobbywing motor and sensored system, plus another servo and different body. I use two 2S batteries, one on each side.
Crucially, mine has a locked front assembly rather than the conventional RTR front differential. Its driving feel should not automatically be attributed to the boxed model.
What Hooked Me
It gives me confidence to start gently and push harder as I find a rhythm. I enjoy improving my own laps and sharing the track.
Impacts still happen. I discuss usage damage and several replaced CVDs. I suspect the locked front contributes under high grip, but have not isolated that cause experimentally.
Limiting Throttle with the MT12
My RadioMaster has no-throttle, limited and full-travel modes. The video states 44% for the intermediate mode.
That percentage is my throttle-control setting, not a measurement of exactly 44% electrical or mechanical motor power. I use it to match the group and feel comfortable.

Wheels and Maintenance Are Part of Track Use
When pushing hard, tyres become a frequent expense. Life depends on compound, track and driving; my stated pack count is not guaranteed lifespan.
Rear-differential access is straightforward on my car and I use grease there. The locked front changes adjustment possibilities and servicing.
A Different Focus for My Collection
My UDR experience explains making room. The Serpent offers what I increasingly seek: circuit driving and a rhythm I want to improve.
